Press Releases

TORONTO, ONTARIO - March 7, 2006 - The management of Romios Gold Resources Inc. ("Romios")(TSX VENTURE:RG) is pleased to provide an update on the results of verification sampling completed on drill core from the NW Zone at the Company's Newmont Lake Project. The Newmont Lake Project is one of six claim blocks currently being evaluated by Romios in the Galore Creek area of northwestern British Columbia.

As previously announced (Press Release dated March 7, 2005), Romios has an option to earn up to a 75% interest in the claims covering the NW Zone from Gulf International Minerals Ltd., ("Gulf"). The NW Zone is an advanced stage gold-copper-silver prospect that was the focus of extensive drill testing by Gulf between 1987 and 1990. During this period Gulf completed 16,633 meters of drilling in 148 holes to evaluate the extent of the NW Zone.

According to technical reports prepared by Gulf and various independent consultants, the NW Zone consists of skarn style mineralization containing significant gold values that have been traced over a strike length of 300 meters. The Gulf reports list numerous drill intersections from the NW Zone ranging from narrow zones averaging less than 5 g/t gold (ie:DDH 90-15: 7.3 feet averaging 0.12 oz/ton gold) to wider zones containing more than 20 g/t gold (ie:DDH 89-11: 26.8 feet averaging 0.625 oz/ton gold and 1.41 oz/ton silver). In addition, Ettlinger and Ray, 1990, note that gold grades within the NW Zone can sometimes be very high including for example, DDH 87-29 which cut an 11.2 meter intercept that assayed 55 g/t gold, 136 g/t silver and 0.97% copper.

In a recently completed technical report prepared for Romios, Nicholson, 2005 lists the drill intersections as reported by Gulf and notes that the published intervals were based on an arbitrary cut-off grade of 0.1 oz/ton gold (approx. 3 g/t gold). Nicholson also notes that the Gulf drill hole assay database includes continuously mineralized intervals of lower grade gold-copper-silver mineralization in excess of 30 meters in length which were not listed in the summary reports published by Gulf.

During the 2005 exploration program at Newmont Lake, Romios completed a systematic verification sampling program utilizing drill core stored on site to validate the Gulf drill hole assay database. A total of 153 mineralized assay intervals from eighteen different drill holes were selected for verification sampling. The split intervals from the Gulf drill core were sawn in half utilizing a diamond rock saw. This produced two quarters from the original drill core. One "quarter" was submitted to ALS Chemex for verification assay and the remaining quarter is stored in the original core boxes on site.

In summary, results of the verification sampling program confirmed the presence of significant gold, copper and silver values in drill core from within the NW Zone. Results for gold and silver show some variability however, copper values are generally consistent and ranged from 0.30% to 0.60% for most of the intervals assayed. For comparative purposes both the Gulf data and the results of the verification sampling program for one of the drill holes, DDH 89-25, is listed in Table 1. DDH 89-25 is described in the Nicholson report dated October 30, 2005 which is available on SEDAR.

According to Nicholson 2005, summary data published by Gulf for DDH 89-25 lists an 8.3 foot interval (2.53 meters) from 65.7 to 74.0 feet (20.0 to 22.5 meters) that averages 0.231 oz/t gold and 5.62 oz/ton silver (7.91 g/t gold and 192.46 g/t silver - copper values not reported). By contrast the Gulf drill logs and drill hole assay database for DDH 89-25 indicate a continuously mineralized zone from surface to a depth of 107 feet (32.7 meters) and lists 25 continuous assay intervals. The gold, copper and silver values for the intervals in DDH 89-25 that were assayed by Gulf and the corresponding gold, copper and silver values for the intervals that were submitted for assay verification as part of the 2005 program are listed in the following table:

The management of Romios believes that by using the arbitrary cut-off grade of 3 g/t gold and not considering copper values withing th emineralized zones, Gulf may have understated the overall extent of gold-copper-silver mineralization in the NW Zone.  It is also important to note that at the time Gulf carried out drill testing of the NW Zone the company did not control the claims covering potential strike extensions of the zone.  The land package assembled by Romios now includes all adjoining claims.

As previously announced (NR dated January 10, 2006) induced polarization surveys completed in 2005 confirmed that the mineralization at the NW Zone has a distinctive chargeability response and identified a potential extension of the NW Zone approximately 500 meters to the northeast of the area tested by Gulf. Romios plans to drill test the new target area identified in 2005, twin several of the Gulf drill holes and complete additional induced polarization surveys during 2006. Results will be released as they become available.

For the purposes of the disclosure in this press release, Carl von Einsiedel, PGeo., a director of the Company, is the Qualified Person ("QP") in accordance with NI 43-101.
