Newmont Lake, BC (approx. 25,975 hectares)
The Newmont Lake property is located about 30 km northwest of the Eskay Creek mine and 30 kilometres southeast of NovaGold/Teck Resources' Galore Creek Project. At the Newmont Lake property's Northwest Zone, Romios has a NI 43-101 Inferred resource of 1,406,000 tonnes containing 200,000 ounces of gold at 4.43 g/t, 6,790,000 lbs. of copper at 0.22% and 291,000 ounces of silver at 6.4 g/t.
Romios' 2008-2009 exploration programs consisted of diamond drilling, metallurgical test work and ground geophysical surveys. The geophysical surveys identified large anomalous IP and magnetic zones extending to the southwest of the NW zone that were drilled in 2009.
Romios plans to conduct further geotechnical and definition drilling on the Northwest Zone resource, exploration drilling on the Ken Zone, and investigate numerous other mineralized showings on the property in 2011 for preparation and commencement of a Preliminary Economic Assessment for infrastructure, access, and development of the combined Newmont Lake and Dirk property emerging district resource.
Some of the highlights from the past exploration programs include:
- Drill hole R-08-01 intersected 0.76 metres (2.49 feet) grading 23.80 g/t gold, 59.0 g/t silver and 0.03% copper. The high grade zone was contained within a wider interval intersected at 58.87 metres below surface that measured 19.46 metres (63.8 feet ) and contained a weighted average grade of 1.92 g/t gold, 3.67 g/t silver and 0.10 % copper (see Press Release September 16, 2008).
- Metallurgical hole at Newmont Lake cut high grade mineralization grading 753 g/t gold, 462 g/t silver and 0.69% copper over 0.44 metres. High grade interval was contained within 14.10 metres (45.95 feet) assaying 26.44 g/t gold, 21.35 g/t silver and 0.21% copper. (see Press Release September 22, 2008).
- Drill hole R 08-05 intersected high grade mineralization grading 185.00 g/t gold, 108.00 g/t silver and 3.28 % copper over a core length of 0.34 metres or 1.10 feet. The high grade mineralization is contained within the interval from 263.47 metres to 264.32 metres (0.85 metres or 2.80 feet) which has a weighted average grade of 74.29 g/t gold, 44.07 g/t silver and 1.40 % copper (see Press Release November 26, 2008).
- Drill hole BH-07-09 intersected 7.82 g/t (0.23 oz) gold over 19.69 metres (64.59 feet), including a high grade zone of 27.32 g/t (0.80 oz) gold over 2.35 metres (7.70 feet) (see Press Release December 18, 2007).
- Geophysical Surveys Identify Large Anomalous Zones Extending Southwest of North West Zone (see Press Release February 19, 2009)
